Lot 1088 US REMINGTON MODEL 1903 BOLT-ACTION MILITARY RIFLE
Cal. 30-06. S# 3221767. Bbl. 24". Marked behind front sight "RA / flaming bomb / 9-42". This rifle was manufactured by Remington in the early WWII era & has the transitional feature of the rear sight base made w/o lightening cuts. Rifle was subsequently overhauled at the Raritan New Jersey Arsenal. Rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards w/ flat knobs. Sight ladder is marked underneath "OL". Blade front sight. Receiver has "Hatcher Hole". Replacement model 1903A1 bolt assembly marked "R". Cutoff is unmarked. All milled furniture, including flat smooth trap buttplate. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is 1903A3 type w/ two reinforcing pins & marked "RA-P" above trigger guard. Vietnam era green nylon sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: plastic oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has light wear w/ light staining & small handling marks throughout. Metal retains a very large degree of its arsenal rework parkerized finish w/ light wear. Very good shiny bore w/ sharp lands. (25-1371/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
